So I've spent the last week failing completely on a ballpoint pen drawing. It's so strange when a piece goes wonky. And no matter how much work you put into it you just can't turn it around. Finally yesterday I surrendered and moved on. To this. One of my next pieces.
Christopher Reeve starring as my favourite comic book character. Just edging out the Dark Knight. Superman.
Now this is just the pencils. I plan on inking this piece and adding lots of background details. But I really like how drawings can look at this stage. Sometimes it's a shame to cover it up with ink! So I wanted to share. This is what I can do in an evening. The inking takes a lot longer. Some of the shading is only quickly rendered. But all the details are there. Everything I need to produce the final drawing.
I really want to start using my blog more. In the past I've obsessed about showing only finished polished pieces of art. But it is a blog! So I want to post more often and show people some of the steps and stages. I hope it's going to be a big year for my art. It'll be fun to share a lot more of it on here than I usually would! Give people more of an idea of what goes into my work!
