A Place To Meet

This is the last of my landscape type drawings from my portfolio. And it's definitely something I want to return to very soon. This drawing and the one of the country cottage, I think, came out pretty well. And architecture and how buildings and places are constructed is a fascinating subject for me.

Exploring subjects is something I'd love to develop into a project of sorts. Like a journal of what things are. How they're put together. To have a place where I can develop interests without worrying about an end product or final piece. One to think about I think.

So, on a more technical level, this is based on some photos I found through the power of google. Ballpoint pen on bristol board. A4 in size like most of my work.

Time Marches On...

The start of a new week approaches... The days and weeks speed by... Soon it'll be Christmas! And then 2010!! Yikes! There never feels like there's enough time to get things done!

But before we say goodbye to 2009, there's a tonne of artwork to finish and share. So here's a drawing I did a while back, earlier in the year. A Ballpoint pen doodle. Just added the rain lines as the image, while an interesting composition, was a bit sparse! 

A Quiet Place In The Country

Wouldn't it be lovely to just escape away from the grind of daily life. Disappear off somewhere quiet... I could draw all day!

Here's a drawing I created a while back... At the moment I'm just sorting through my portfolio, tinkering with the work, fixing things that stand out now, and then sharing them on here. I think all artists can benefit with space from their work, time to look at it with fresh eyes. It's too easy to finish something and post it in a rush, only to regret it afterwards... Something I've been very guilty of in the past!

So over the next couple of weeks that's what I'll be doing. I am working on new things... I just need some time to get stuff done properly. So until then, my backlog of portfolio work will keep my blog ticking over...
